About This Game The moment you clicked on him, you had already stepped into the cage he carefully built for you. Empty Box: 空盒子 is a female-oriented romance visual novel woven with meta elements, psychological horror, and unsettling twists. As the story restarts again and again, someone begins to remember what was meant to be forgotten. When the person on the other side of the screen becomes aware of “you”—can you still believe this is all just a scripted story? This is not just a love story. It is a game about memory, choice, and obsession. |

Gentle / Obsessive / Unreadable
The perfect student council president.
Gentle, capable, and impossibly composed, L always seems to know what you need before you even say it. To everyone else, he is flawless.
But the closer you get to him, the more you may begin to wonder whether his kindness is truly meant to save you, or to keep you exactly where he wants you.
Saken（左见）
Proud / Anxious / Rebellious
A truant student and the vocalist of a rock band.
Saken looks like he lives by his own rules—skipping class, speaking his mind, and acting like nothing in the world can touch him. Beneath that careless attitude, however, is someone far more fragile than he wants anyone to see.
He may push you away first, but that does not mean he wants you to leave.
Rinso（林创）
Reserved / Straightforward / Easily Flustered
A quiet boy who keeps his distance from others.
Rinso is not good at pretending. He says what he thinks, even when his words come out too direct, and he often seems cold simply because he does not know how to get close to people.
But behind his awkward silence, there may be a kind of sincerity that is harder to find than any sweet lie.

Developer Note
Empty Box was born from our love for psychological visual novels that leave a lingering sense of unease long after the screen goes dark.
We are drawn to meta storytelling, emotional tension, and the fragile boundary between player and character — but we also wanted to approach these ideas from a female-oriented perspective.
Our team currently consists of only two people, and there is still much for us to learn. Even so, we hope to create a story that stays with you long after you close the game.
English is not our native language, so please let us know if anything sounds off.

Install instructions
Windows
1. Download the Windows version of Empty Box.
2. Extract the downloaded .zip file.
3. Open the extracted folder and run EmptyBox.exe.
Please do not run the game directly from inside the .zip file.
macOS
1. Download the macOS version of Empty Box.
2. Extract the downloaded file and open EmptyBox.app.
3. If macOS prevents the game from opening, go to:
System Settings → Privacy & Security
4. Scroll down and find the message saying that Empty Box was blocked.
5. Click “Open Anyway”.
6. Enter your Mac password if prompted, then click “Open”.
If a warning appears, please do not choose “Move to Trash”.
The game does not require any additional software or libraries to run.

Eerie, but the good kind.
oh my gosh this is such a BEAUTIFUL GAME.
I think this is one of the first game where i've struggled to choose a favorite, I love all the leads! The entire premise of the MC being able to see into peoples past and their actions is so amazing, I've never read anything like this before. I love the design for all the characters, the dialouge is top tier, and it left me so excited for the full game.
Amazing job I can't wait to read this story when it's completed! <3
